Kansas City Home Design and Midwest Commercial Journals awarded the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Survivors Park a Design in Excellence Silver Award for Outdoor Spaces.
Accepting the award was Mark Spurgeon of Williams Spurgeon Kuhl & Freshnock (WSKF) Architects Kansas City, Missouri. WSKF’s vision for this 20-year-old park brought together a design team including Heidi Pollmann and Terry Berkbuegler – confluence landscape architects, Marc Donaleski – Embassy Landscape Group, Phillip Smith – the Art Office, Emily Brown – McCownGordon Construction, and many other wonderful Kansas City contractors. Thanks to Mark McHenry, executive director of the Kansas City Parks & Recreation Department and his staff for their due diligence in making this a beautiful gathering place for all the people of Kansas City.
